Afterwards Fairuz was rewarded with a long applause which made her return back to salute the people. Source: Assafir

Concerts: While every concert by Fairuz is a special event. It all depends on the material available to create a special for it. This is why there is a new section under the lists that will contain the basic available information on past concerts. The first to get this page is the recent Dubai concert. I am working on a special design for these pages and will get it ready soon.

Update Number 201:1st May 2002
News (2/5): Fairuz is going to sing the Good Friday hymns today in Achrafieh at Albishara Church at 4:00PM.
News: In a full house, Fairuz performed an unforgettable concert. Dedicated to the children of the Arab world, especially those under the siege in Palestine, the concert was Fairuz's message about what has been going on in Palestine. It was the night of the 29th April 2002 at the auditorium of the American university. After the UAE and the Lebanese anthems, the concert began with a piece from Rajioun, followed by Zahrat Elmadaen, Ya Jisran Khashabian, before Fairuz leaves the stage. The choir then sang Nasri's Sheik Elmina and Talo Esayadi. Fairuz turns on stage with Kifak Inta and Eshtaatelak. The choir followed up singing Ziad's Marba Edalal and Eltili Tarktak. That's when Fairuz reentered to sing Shadi, Fi Ahwa Al Mafra, Habbaytak Tnseet Enoum and Melheb Jay ending the first half of the concert. The second half began with the Ziad's instrumental Raqset Ers which can be found on his Bema Enno album. Fairuz returns to sing Yara, Maarefti Feek, Dhak Khelee Ya Saby and Habbaytak Besayf. After Fairuz had left the stage, the choir sang Saalouni Enas and Ayeeshi Wahda Balak. From the backstage, Fairuz sang Ghab Naharon Akhr, before entering again in the auditorium to sing Ya Roboo Biladi, Elqods Fel Bal, Rudani Ila Beladi, and then to sing the Rajioun operette in its entirety going for about 20 minutes unstopped. The concert ended with Fairuz singing a verse from Zahrat Elmadaen. (Source: Assafir newspaper)

Note: Voix de l'Orient released two relatively new albums each containing the hits of a popular play. As it's probably known the songs in some of the plays were performed in playback, and these songs were only available recorded live from the theater. Now however the songs from Mais Elrim and Ayyam Fakhereddine are available in the studio recorded versions.
Note: It also seems that Ellayl Anashid and Yes'ed Sabahak have been rereleased. The covers look changed but I don't know about the content. My guess is that they are the same albums, and I doubt they have been remastered, but I'll check.

All this and we're still in May! ... or is it June already?

News (Wednesday update): The orchestra joining Fairuz in Beiteddine will contain Armenian, Dutch, and American musicians with Ziad on the piano. There's a possibility to hold more concerts. Tickets will be sold at the Beiteddine palace and at the Beiteddine office on the fourth floor in the Starco center in downtown Beirut from 9:30 until 5:00, during the concert days it will be extended until 6:30. Tickets will most probably range from 25,000 Liras ($17) up to 200,000 ($135). Buses will be arranged to go from Beirut to Beiteddine on all concert days. Their meeting points in Beirut will be at the Sofil center in Alachrafieh, and near the Cavalier hotel in Hamra. People who want to drive to the palace will find that car parks have been established. A professional company called 'Dar il Handassa' designed the seating of the stage so that the acoustics and the viewing of the stage will be the best possible from all places. In a reply to a question, Mrs. Joumblat said that Fairuz's fee for the concerts is only symbolic. Brochures of the festival, prices, and times will be released in a few days.

They haven't run any spots for this program like they usually do every week which could be a hint.
